Hi learners.
I am working on a Panasonic 21" TV. The power was not coming I have work on that but my problem is there is this capacitor 391j 2kv it got burn and I can get the replacement. Now when I put it on without putting in the diflection coil you can hear the sound but the moment you put on the diflection coil the stand by light comes on and goes off. I need help.

Sir baceyeb . . . . . learner

ALWAYS
send the complete model number ??? of the unit so that it can be further researched.
With a 390 picofarad at 2KV I would suspect its failure mode to be either a direct short or a burnt across path or ashened end that you can physically see.
Also . . . it would be associated with the horizontal circuit and probably associated with tuning / matching circuitry of that mentioned yoke deflection winding or across the HOZ output collector .
PROBABLY directly across it . . . .SO O O O O O . . . . if you had the yoke DISCONNECTED *** it would thereby be subject to PEAK to PEAK pulses FAR in excess of your 2KV spec and surely would have knocked out a replaced one.
(*** Why you do that ? ) That is as insane as going out to your car / mottorcycle and having it in neutral and then starting up the motor and immediately advancing the accelerator to absolute MAX and then holding it there and waiting to see the effect.
