need an idea for an new project or a modification of an old project

i have been thinking about an idea for a project but its kind of not clear for me...i wish to be helped with an idea for a new project or a modification of an old one. Please help me am a baby in electronics...

its a for school and its part of a requirement for my BEng degree in electronics and communication eng. Am in my third year so i have a little understanding in electronics but i've not built a project before but i have experimented and simulate to prove some principles of circuit and devices...pls help me...

i finished my 3rd year a couple of weeks back so am on vacation, and we did study courses like information and coding theory, communication and switching techniques,introduction to V.L.S.I. ,computer networking and architecture, embbeded and v.l.s.i. Lab(simulated with xlinx). .these was all we did, is it enough or not..

It's part of information theory dealing with error correction, compression, etc.

If the OP has studied this then perhaps he should try to implement a low power, low speed, resilient remote sensor.

I've never considered coding technique, good or bad, to fall within the realm of theory.
