He's referring to a very old thread from 2011:-
https://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/need-help-with-pendulum-clock.242141/

It appears to be a common problem.
@pendulum 02 , can you give us more information? A clear photo of the relevant part of the clock might help, (the separate circuit board with a single AA battery that boosts the pendulum).

Edit: Like many others, redeye 02 didn't come back and report on whether he managed to fix it, and if so how he did it.
Sounds like the coil might have been the culprit. A photo would still help, along with any markings on the components.

I searched using the forums search function on both that and the user name before I posted my comment and didn't find anything LOL
google wins again

I did the same forums search, Dave, and came up with nothing as well, but was interested in what a CROSA pendulum actually was, so Googled it.

Thank you Steve
Redeye 02 in 2011 did have the same problem I have.A CROSA clock made in GERMANY around 1960 with a pendulum that Does not work. The circuit board was made in JAPAN, It is composed of two transistors ,a 47uf capacitor, one coil with two windings, and other resisters.
Redeye 02 said he could get the board but wanted to fix his.I would love to get the board but I don't know how to go about it.

I think that you'll be very lucky if you manage to get hold of a new board. You might have to repair the old one if you want to get it working again.
Do you have a multimeter, and know how to use it effectively? The most likely culprit, as in redeye 02's case, is the coil.

Yes I do have a multimeter, a FLUKE 117.
Ive made some checks, and haven't found any problems. But a multimeter is a static meter.
I have a friend who has an oscilloscope and in the 60s his job was to fix circuit boards.
Yes he had a schematic to work with where I have none.
STEVE you mentioned the coil as a possibility ,so did my friend. Unfortunately he does not have the tools to repair it.
My friend also said he had a program on his PC where if you fill in the components it will produce a result.
Im sending the board to him.

Harald, I am new to the forum and recognize that this thread is old. I have the same problem with my Juliana (identical to Crosa) pendulum clock.
Thanks.

any responses will be in the thread for all to benefit :)

Pendulum02, I’m new to the forum and realize that this is an old thread. I have the same problem with my Juliana(identical to Crosa) pendulum clock. Would like info on buying replacement board. Would you please respond by email: [email protected]. Thanks, Jules

OK, still trying to learn the forum rules. Since this is an old thread, how can I know that the original players are seeing my current message? Would appreciate any info on pendulum clock circuit board. Anyone?

The only way you will know is if the original poster responds to a notification that some one posted in their thread
no one else in the thread will be notified and will be unaware of your post

There are 2 ways of alerting some one

1) quote them as I just quoted you
2) name the person ... eg. .... @Jules Rondepierre like that,

and you would be notified that 1) you were quoted and 2) you were mentioned

but of course that will only work if that/those people are still active on the forum

in the people listed in this thread, as far as I'm aware, only Harald and myself are still active

Cheers Dave

OK Everybody I have solved the pendulum swinging problem on the Crosa clocks. First I use a sunbeam AA battery but don't think that makes a difference. While struggling for the second time around after changing the battery I found the answer to the pendulum does not swing problem. Really. It is not over complicated. Like many I thought it was the placement of the top magnets or the circuit boad. Not so. By chance I found that what controls the swing is solved by proper placement at the bottom of the pendulum. No, not the weight. If you place the the pendulum on the clock and push away from you toward the (satute) center at the bottom of the pendulum until it stops and then swing the pendulum it works. It puts the top in the right place and aligns the pendulum perfectly to swing. I hope this helps. Try it, it works.......
