Hi

I checked online but I couldn't find a data sheet for 74166 8 bit shift registers. Does any on know where I can find a full data sheet for it. The 74166 register is the only register my circuit simulation app (Icirciut) provides.

Thanks

Learn how to use a search engine.
Don't get confused by any prefixes or appendices like SN74166, 74166N etc. Or even 74HCT166 or any other letters in between 74 and 166 as these mark different manufacturing technologies and are not relevant for elementary circuit simulations (all these become relevant only if you need to make a rather detailed timing simulation taking into account load parameters like capacitance, resistance and number of attached inputs).

Your symbol just uses different pin designations - compare the pin numbers to those of the datasheet and you'll see how they 'match'.

The 'General Description' on page 1 of the data sheet explains how the device works and how signals propagate.

Suggest you mark up the data sheet pins to match your 'symbol' and read through it properly to get a full understanding. It's all explained there.....
