Hello, I purchased a Chinese LED COB lighting chip that was supposed to be 120v and it is 220v. So if practical I would like a no-frills boost Tformer to run a 100 watt LED 120v chip that is 220v.

Try Amazon for example or search the internet with the search engine of your choice.

Today most power supplies can work on a wide range from 90 V to 230 V (AC). show us the datasheet (link) for your LED, please. It may contain valuable information for using the LED on 120 V since it was advertised as such (which by itslef doesn'T mean it really has to ).

Thanks, Harald, I hooked the chip up to 120v and it did not do anything. One thing I did not do was reverse the leads. Any tips on soldering the wires onto the chip? Man, it is bout impossible for a novice to make them stick. I wonder how conductive glue would do vs soldering? Any help is appreciated. Thanks all.

No datasheet, no help, Sorry, but there are so many different LEDs on the market, we need more information before we can help in more detail.
A typical LED chip will not work on AC, it needs a DC supply and a well controlled one, too. See our resource. There are AC LEDs, but these are special chips and again, no datasheet (or a link thereto), no help

Harald, This is ac until the line voltage hits the onboard driver then I don't know. I will have to see if I can find the place I ordered (eBay) and see if there are specs on the site and see if I can measure voltage somewhere on the chip.

It is typical that on eBay sites you will not find something that is worth being called "documentation".
Do you have the type and/or manufacturer of the LED? That may help.
