Hot cellphone maybe bad wifi chip

Have cellphone android brand ZTE the phone get very hot when running the WIFI ,after turn off the wifi the phone get cool

A person said your wifi chip has a short in the wifi chip,.

Is there separate chip for wifi in a cellphone ?

It depends on the phone model.Some cellphone processors have integrated wifi, others need a separate wifi chip.
Whatever: you'll have a hard time swapping either processor or wifi modem chip in a modern cellphone.

I doubt that you can fix the problem by changing a chip. I'm not familiar with that phone, but see if it has a power saving mode that might help.
