Hi Dave,
How's life in Sydney? Off to Bondi to get some sunburn after lunch?

Sounds like some of the northern hemisphere is getting hammered by bad weather, so won't be the most pleasant Christmas season for them.

@Kiwi and @davenn: Yes, it is quite cold in North America, even here in southwestern Florida, although we did not freeze and did not have a "white Christmas" like all the states north of us, and all of Canada too. Lots of folks stranded at airports and on the roads, making Holiday travel a really bad experience for many.

Wife and I stayed home and celebrated Christmas with a New York strip steak dinner. Would have had a nice spiral-sliced ham, but that was not even considered this year because of the inflated prices. It's gonna get a LOT worse because Congress just passed another 1.2 trillion dollar spending bill. Merry Christmas, everyone!

I know this post was from 2022, but it brought back memories of that holiday season. Our family also chose to stay home for Christmas due to the weather. We had planned a trip to France through [mod edit: link to advertising removed] but decided to postpone it until conditions improved. In the end, staying home turned out to be a good decision.
