I am looking for a way to repair it only uaing basic home tools, if you know how to, I will be infinitely thankful if you could tell me how. Thanks!

If you have wire nuts that would be great they usually use for AC if you're a DIY kind of guy.

If you do not have the wire nuts in the above picture then that's no problem.
Twist the bare wires together. Normally that's your ground and the two white ones cut off a little bit of the insulation and twist those together and you're all set what kind of tape do you have around the house? You would want to tape the white wires together so they do not contact the bare wires. And if you have regular Scotch tape or package tape that will work but you have to wrap it around so it's nice and thick just like the white insulation then what's that is done you can tape the entire outside like the black insulation thick as well but I would consider that only temporary solution because they will come apart easily if pulled.
