It is BD9701T. I found the datasheet. I see it is controlled from somewhere, a big ic, which test the system first.
I phone the local panasonic repair man and he said the thing is 12 years old, they got zero spares left, and panasonic will not look at it. He also did not want the send me a copy of the trouble shoot doc to test it.

Fixed Panasonic F61 code on SC-HT920

I managed to fix it. It had an F61 code. I couldn’t find a new surround sound system online. So I was trying to take out the DVDs that were in the unit. I could not open it because the subwoofer would not supply power to the DVD unit. So I tried pressing the DVD open/eject button while jiggling the power cord. The cord was plugged into the electrical outlet, and the other end was in the subwoofer. I pulled it out partially to where it was barely connected and would jiggle it while pressing the eject button. I was hoping to get it to eject or at least start to eject so I could retrieve the DVDs.

All the sudden the front unit said Hello and Wait. Somehow jiggling the cord while pressing the DVD eject button reset the unit. So far it’s working just fine. Knock on wood.

(It may have also just been a result of me jiggling the power cord/if this doesn’t work, try pressing the on/off butting while jiggling the power cord)

(Keep in mind, I was resigned to throwing it away and this may cause more issues if you were looking to get it fixed at a repair shop of some kind)

PS: My problem stemmed from an overnight power outage.
