When selecting a capacitor for a switching power supply, factors like ESR, ripple current rating, and temperature stability are crucial. Choosing components that align with your circuit’s frequency and load conditions ensures efficiency and longevity. The DS3645B+ is a great example of a part designed with such demanding applications in mind.

When choosing a capacitor for a switching power supply, consider voltage rating, capacitance, low ESR, temperature rating, and the type (ceramic for high frequency, electrolytic for bulk filtering).

Did they mention the Ripple Current Rating issue?
Yes, they considered the Ripple Current Rating when doing the calculations. Please take a look. Here is also a tutorial on switching power supply design: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/85V_260VAC_to_5VDC_2_5A_Flyback_Switching_Power_Supply_c412c2b3.html

You can see it for a reference. This power supply is tested for voltage drop, current delivery, and output noise. They used Siglent SDL1020X-E DC Load and Siglent SDS2102X Plus oscilloscope to perform all tests.
