Thanks for coming back on this. Exactly the same behavior as here. I can also configure IEEE but the device is not listening. I monitored GPIB traffic with a second logic analyzer. Curious to hear how your second box will behave.
The operating manual page 1.2 says "All instruments can be remotely controlled via IEEE...".
And further down: "The IEEE communication option may be factory installed ... or can be ordered as separate option (... PF 8653/20)".
I assumed the number refers to an upgrade kit.

Thanks for the hints about the programs and docs on the utilities disk. I hadn't spotted those yet.
For now, I give up on GPIB. If only someone had the manual for the IEEE upgrade kit...

Somewhere I read that there was an IEEE upgrade kit by Philips. I wonder if this included a set of new EPROMs.
I'm aware of the Util disk. I used it after replacing the battery. The mouse is working fine. Unfortunately, there is only one...
Many thanks, I do have the manuals. I cannot get the GPIB interface responding even though I have added the chips, activated IEEE and set the GPIB address. I wonder if I have the wrong firmware.
