    thank you audioguru, i was trying to use the ac motor instead of a dc motor, because the ac motor is 1/3 the size and about 1/4 the weight. which benefits my project greatly. what is a power factor correction, and how difficult is this to achieve since you mentioned that it is a can of worms?
