    Induced current in a coil

Sorry for the late reply - guys and thank you all for your input, yes as Mr Kapp pointed out, this thread is related to another one, where I asked about playing audio file when an indicator arrow/needle point to an object on a board. I am happy to learn about devices that will do the job even if...

    Audio files on a chip

Thanks Bertus, that looks like it might do the job but may be bit more than I need.

    Induced current in a coil

If I have a coil of suitable configuration and I pass a magnetized needle over it (NOT through it) as close as poss - would that induce a current/voltage in the coil? if so could that current/voltage be "amplified" to be used as an input to an Arduino board? This is a great forum and I am...

    Audio files on a chip

Thanks Peter, I never knew about ISD chips, it would appear they don't have the capacity to hold multiple Mb of data?

    Audio files on a chip

I checked the info about the Tonuino kit, the main device is useful but the RFID gear is bit too much for I need. All I need for my setup is a simple Inductive Proximity Switch (at very short range in order of 2-3mm), could a coil on one side and a magnetized arrow on the other side work?

    Audio files on a chip

Thank you all guys for taking time to reply, particularly Mr Kapp - that looks like a a nice kit, will contact the supplier and see, keep up the good work.

    Audio files on a chip

Hi all, As ever - this is great forum, a big thank you that make it possible, My project is for an educational device made up of a board with pointing arrow that moves along and when it reaches an object it plays an audio file, then next object the same and so on ... up to about 10 objects. am...

    Capacitor with Multi-dielectric

Hi All, I hope you good people can enlighten me on this, I find capacitors fascinating, the more I find out about them the more questions arise, Lets say I have a basic capacitor with two conductive parallel plates, inbetween them I have multi-layer dielectrics of different types...

    Electrolyte-less Capacitor

Hi all, Having two parallel conductive plates with a separator inbetween with NO electrolyte whatsoever, can they function as a capacitor? if so how about voltage? thanks

    Capacitance measurements and frequency

In various research papers I came across - it seems capacitance is always measured as a function of "frequency"? why is that? would that be needed even if one is dealing only with DC current? thanks.

Thanks Harald, here it is ... thats better :)

    ID a circuit please

I don't know why pic linking is not working, the pics have been reduced in size to 42Kb

    ID a circuit please

Hi All, I found this circuit at a Garage sale, can you please see if you can tell what it does? In addition to the components you can id from the pics there are: :: a rectifier KBU6D (the black rectangle nxt to the fuses) :: Film capacitor 0.33/250 :: 3 x caps 1000uF/63V Many thanks

Capacitor with conductive metal inbetween plates

Thank you Nanren888, Also thank you to Mr Kapp for the diagram above, helped me realised the obvious fact that I have made two caps in series! Might be a bit early for me here :) have not had a coffee yet! I must admit I did not measure the voltage, so what you are saying is that we have an...
