    Where can I buy FeCl3?

Where on earth do you ferric chloride? I keep seeing pictures of tubs of it... Where do I get the FeCl3?? Thanks!

Is there a big difference between an FM transmitter and an FM receiver?

Well, it depends, both in the car and at home. If I have it too close to the radio I get a lot of static. If I have it to far from the radio I get a lot of static. Sometimes I don't get any static anywhere.

Is there a big difference between an FM transmitter and an FM receiver?

Well, I usually only use it in my car where it sits right under the radio or in the passenger seat. Some times if its staticy I throw it in the back seat and it has less static, even though the antenna is on the hood... The radio is the original radio in the car, which is 22 years old... So, the...

Is there a big difference between an FM transmitter and an FM receiver?

I have a stupid little thingy that plugs into the headphone jack of a CD player or similar device. When it's on, it picks up the output and transmits it to the 88.1, 88.5, 88.3 or 88.7 FM band. But it's always staticy! I don't know if it is the circuit of the device or maybe those channels? I...

    5 second delay System

Now what do you mean by time delay? Do you mean you want it to wait 5 seconds until it plays? So, when you press the play button,  you wont here the music/sound until 5 seconds later?

What makes a good solder desolder station?

What makes a good solder desolder station? I am considering getting one, but If I do get one, I want a good one. Then, what are we looking at in terms of price? Thanks!

    electrically charged fence

I was simply thinking about getting an industrial transformer to take my 120 and bring to about 10kV ;D. Then it would charge a couple of huge capacitors, like 100 farads so that voltage would only be pumped through if the wires are grounded. Then I would put a large 6ft fence around my...

Is there a way to make DRL gates oscillate?

Is there a way to make DRL gates oscillate or do you need capacitors and transistors and ...??

Could some one please explain to me how a DRL...? Wait! one more thing!

Also, if you look at reply #6 you will see a working drawing of a DRL AND gate. Problem is, it is mechanically operated. How do I use the output of a CMOS chip to control the DRL gate? Only way I can think of is to use a reed relay, but thats just stupid...

    Problems with my 555 circuit

Changing the values of the resistors could certainly solve your problem, but doing so is asking for trouble. By changing the values of the resistors you not only change the frequency, you also change the duty cycle. If you like the way the circuit worked before, your best solution would be to...

    Problems with my 555 circuit

Yay! 555s.... Provided that everything is correct and the only change you made was using a 100uf capacitor, then the circuit is oscillating at a different frequency. In this case, the capacitor will take much longer to charge and discharge. If you look at the light long enough, I wager it will...

Could some one please explain to me how a DRL...? Wait! one more thing!

The gates in an IC, such as the 4081, have a logic "low" of 0 volts, do they not? If this is the case, and a CMOS chip is nothing more than discrete components etched into a silicon chip, then what are the components in there? Also, if you look at reply #6 you will see a working drawing of a...

    220 volts Versus 120 volts

Like Canada, U.S. also uses both ~220 and ~110. We use the 220 to power big stuff that need a lot of power such as a stove, water furnace, washer dryer, etc... In the U.S. we are charged by kilowatt hour. Which means, if we use the same amperage at 220, we will be charged a lot more! I would...

Binary clock :)! Any one familiar with binary counters?

The only reason I have yet to build this is because I don't know any 6Bit binary counters. When I looked it up online I got a whole lotta nothing. So, either they don't make 6Bit binary counters and a lot of people want them or they do make them. I don't know much about ICs, which makes it...

Could some one please explain to me how a DRL...? Wait! one more thing!

What about other logic such as RTL and DTL? Would I be left with the same problems?

Could some one please explain to me how a DRL...? Wait! one more thing!

There where actual incidents last year where I needed to run LEDs from some OR and AND gates. Because LEDs run off of such a low current, the current running out of the "low" DRL gates was enough to turn them on. DRL isn't the only option for making these gates. It was the most appealing...

    How can I cascade 4017s?

I wouldn't know.  :-X But, MP did say the frech diagram was a correct working circuit. I will build the circuit I drew and hope I don't ruin my sensitive 4017s. If that doesn't work and MP has nothing to add, I will build the french circuit in multisim and see what happens.

What If I need this AND gate to run something thats digital low is 0V and not 800mV?

    How can I cascade 4017s?

Multisim does have issues. I think I will go ahead and build it physclly. The 555 does show proper out put....

Could some one please explain to me how a DRL...? Wait! one more thing!

And here it is! That gray thing to the right is a volt meter. I used it to check the voltages. when one input was high, the out put was almost 800mV. Thanks again!
