    Not your average charger!

It is a load of rubbish. While static charges of several KV can be picked up on an antenna, the current is so small that charging a deep cycle battery from such an arrangement is not possible.

Another http://www.linear.com/prod/datasheet.html?datasheet=163 Google "cold junction compensation". You cannot expect accurate results from a thermocouple without taking this into account.

The transformer probably has an internal fuse. Some transformers have the connection between the primary winding and the fuse on a unused pin, others require peeling off the outer layer of insulation to locate.

Latch does not work with transistor loaded

Perhaps the wires connected to U4d.e are pcking up hash from the relay closing with a load and resetting the FF. Try putting a RC filter on U4d,e inputs.

    fast switch-off for transistor switch

I was thinking of connecting a contact from relay 1 in series with relay 2 and vice versa so yhat only one relay could be "on" at a time

    fast switch-off for transistor switch

Most of the lag will be caused by the diode across the relay. Have you got a spare contact on each relay

    ultrasonic mosquitoes repeller

LM/NE555 is not an opamp, CD4047 is not a phase locked loop. A 555 will drive the piezo directly. Use a CMOS vesion for lowest current draw. There is no evidence that these devices actually repel mossies.

    Help with power supply repair

The switch mode preregulator should hold a ~3.5V difference across Q9. To verify this lift the end of R9 that is connected to Q9. Put aload of 500 ohm 10W across C5. Disconnect Q9 collector. Power up.The voltage on C5 should now be about 3.5V. If it is, the preregulator is ok. Tracking can be...
