    check the wires. the wires sometimes break on the device end, and have to be cut and spliced. I had one that was busted on both ends., I had to rewire the plug and the board. There is alot of white pucky in there. That's quite a bit of white pucky. Might call it a pucky covered mother!

    have fun! I have found that most shorts are caused by something metal wedged between the mobo and the case, touching a hot or even a wire connector. even a hair of copper wire, or a spit ball can cause this stuff.

    One thing about ballasts.... if you can find a ballast that has the exact specs but different wiring, its if usually safe to rewire it and use it in your light, but remember THE EXACT SPECS, if any of the specs are off, it won't work, or it will blow up or leak or just sit there and buzz.
