    Ratch.. Building something from a book or website can be a little confusing as reading or understanding what the diagram drawing is. Basic ohms law to help you work out what type of resistors to use and there power rating must never be pushed to hard! If you wanted to build a audio amplifier...

    Thanks..the main amp board is all on one board..and the protection circuit can be seen at the top of the photo with the relay in view. Has for the schematic...mmm well, wink... It has straight forwards tail balanced input pair and current mirror vas stage with emitter follower outpur stage...

    You could parallel one pair of 8 ohms speakers giving 4 ohm and do the same with the next pair and then series the too 4ohms to give 8 ohm load.. by what is your amplifiers rated power?

    If there was a hum in the sound you can remove the speaker load and check the offset volts at the out put..it should be low say 24mv or up to 100mv ..

    If all is well and no sign of things over heating etc. Have you tried it with out blub limiter and no speaker hooked up? Now if all is well use a different speaker instead of it's own bass speaker and power up with with the limiter in is it ok? The big test is no limiter and power up, guitar...

    There is short circuit limiter transistors in this amplifier..v limiter... Look at the circuit and your see just in front of the bias servo..there are small signal transistors with there emitters connected to the output line.. if there is a short at the o/p end these limited the drive voltage..
