DC voltage blocker - Blocking AC too?

Good point Audioguru. Reverse voltage too high. Like Alec_t suggested, ditch that book.

Yamaha Stagepas 600i - Rchan keeps blowing

Yes it sounds like a short. I forgot you don't have the complete unit and only the board. I would use an ohmmeter and check the semiconductors, particularly those KTA transistors from emitter to collector, for shorts and compare the resistance readings with the good channel.

DC voltage blocker - Blocking AC too?

It looks like what you're describing is what should happen. You have DC by half wave rectification and is charging the capacitor the way the battery is.

Yamaha Stagepas 600i - Rchan keeps blowing

It sounds like you covered the bases quite well. With these direct coupled circuits, anything can be the culprit. Intermittent semiconductor or capacitor shorting and causing full conduction of the outputs, etc. Most amps I have found have the proper biasing to the outputs (about .55V) even with...

    Diode Help

A 1N4005 has the exact same 1A 600V spec's. It is available everywhere, such as Mouser or Digikey. This one has a glass package like the original: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Semiconductors/1N4005GP-E3-73?qs=N4vtoAxH%2FSrnrLZEFs90%2FQ%3D%3D The other package it is commonly in is...

    Diode Help

OK. After spending 2 hours looking up diode color codes, I ended up on the Matsushita/Panasonic website, translated into English, and came up with this. According to their website it is a MA183 or MA2B183 diode. Finding the spec's wasn't easy either. 600V 1A rectifier.

    Yamaha TSR-7810 receiver power drift

Yes. Back in the 80's, that was a common problem with (I forget the brand) a receiver I used to repair. The part was always the same dual transistor at the input. Being direct coupled all the way to the output, the outputs would drift and activate the protection circuit.

    Yamaha TSR-7810 receiver power drift

If it takes that long for the voltage to start rising and you don't feel anything getting hot, get a can of "freeze" spray and spray the semiconductors one by one. You found the problem IC or transistor when the problem immediately goes away. Wait a moment between freezing each part.

    Battery Switch Malfunction

Sounds like the switch is mechanically broken. There is usually an arm on a spring the latches itself to a plastic post to latch in on and another push to release it. A broken post or spring can be at fault.

    Acdelco amfm cassette radio

Back in those days I used to repair them. When you say a couple of inches are loose, I suspect you mean tape is coming out of the shell. There are more issues involved than just belts. The two holes in the cassette get inserted with two stubs the same shape as the cassette and turns them. As the...

    Yamaha RX-V483 dead.

The STR3A153 is readily available and has the same pinout and similar spec's. If it is the trouble, it might be the only way to save the amp.

ademco vista 10-se unable to disarm

Try emailing the company. There might be a small reset button on the circuit board. I hate to say it but be prepared. The same thing happened in my house. When the power returned, my microwave was toasted. Seems there was a surge when the power went out or when it returned.

ademco vista 10-se unable to disarm

I just did a quick google for your problem. In addition to disconnecting the power, there is a battery that should be removed. I would wait a few minutes before restoring power to see if that works.
