    DC Bias

Oh Yes. A large capacitor will have a long charge time.

    DC Bias

Make sure your capacitor in on the hot side of the generator output. Then, try putting a resistor across the generator output after the capacitor. Something like 10K.

    Can you identify this part?

It could be a surface mount fuse. I come across them frequently and just solder a pigtail fuse in its place.

    Through hole Diode Identification

It looks a little fatter than a 1N4148. I use zener diodes that look like this. What is this circuit? Make, model, function?

Heathkit AR-15 receiver - problem with multiplex circuit

Replace the capacitors associated with it, especially the 2700pF. One of the diodes following it might also be the culprit. I went through this years ago with a TV tuner, the old clicker type, and it was a disc cap that was drifting.

    Service manual/schematic Hameg HM1500

I don't know if this is a duplicate post but about a week ago someone was looking for the same SM and said the -2 version is not the same. I couldn't find anything but the -2 version either.

Damage electronic units by cleaning front panel with water based?

Your guessing could be correct. I clean electronic stuff all the time the way you did. As long as you spray the towel and it's not dripping wet, there shouldn't be an issue. Possibly after 30 years, there is corrosion inside. If it's dead, I would look for a replaceable fuse either inside or on...

    Astable 555 500Khz 20ms

Way way back I used a CMOS 555 in the standard astable circuit. I left pin 5 floating with no capacitor, used 10 megohms between pins 6 and 7 and a 1 megohm from 7 to 8 (B+). I got a very stable 1 MHZ square wave out of it.

Personally I prefer LM4862. However in recent years it is available only in SMT.

    Coronavirus transmission prevention device.

Hey I read a question and answer blog where someone wanted to know if he mixes chlorine bleach and alcohol and rubs it over his body will it prevent coronavirus. You know the answer - NO! It's airborne. AND you'll get chemical burns on your skin.

They are all NPN's. If Q2 and Q3 are the same, I'm willing to bet so is Q1.

    Reversed Speakers

If you haven't done so, clean all switches and potentiometers with spray contact cleaner. DO NOT get it on the clear plastic dial face. It will turn it white.

Check if there is DC voltage on the speaker terminals. You might need an amp.

A simple LED light night switch

Tigfur unless I am missing something, your circuit will turn the LED on in light and off in dark. You would have to swap positions of the LDR and R2. BUT then you need a resistor in series with the base to prevent blowing the transistor when R2 is turned up to the + 9V.

Before you buy a new board for $300 from a parts supply, check out ebay. I've bought microwave oven parts for $7 compared to $75 from parts supply.

    diode question

Hi Everyone. I know you're not "supposed" to parallel diodes but I've been doing it for years. I do it to reduce the temperature of the diode. I know they are equally sharing the forward current because they have the same voltage drop and they feel equally warm to touch. I also have been doing...
