    IGBT ignition coil driver

Ha, ha, :o I just looked at the data again. The current goes down when temp. goes up, just like a mosfet.

I thought igbjt stood for insulated gate bi junction transistor.

    IGBT ignition coil driver

Ok, now I understand. I guess the pic would never drive that igbjt transistor. That's what I didn't know about pics. But if the pic puts out that much voltage it should easily drive the irfbe30 that I recommended. And if the pic doesn't put out that much voltage the pull up resistor would still...

    IGBT ignition coil driver

I was just thinking that bjts need an emitter resistor to stop thermal runaway. Maybe ,1ohm on the emitter, or use the transistor on the high side of the coil. Do you have a heat sink on the transistor? I have tried bjts before, but they never worked well. :)

Is there a sensor to detect biological materials?

This is a little off topic, but I had a labrador retriever that had an amazing sense of smell. I could hide his eyes and throw a ball out in the weeds and then tell him to go get it. Even if the wind was blowing, he could catch a whiff of that ball if he was downwind, and he would find that ball...

    IGBT ignition coil driver

That sounds like an interesting project. I hope that you start a new thread. I built a capacitor discharge ignition, but it only puts out one spark if I remember correctly. But it was over 9000v! I don't know how much over because my tester only goes to 9000v. I wish I had scoped it to know for...

    IGBT ignition coil driver

This is very simular to the tester that I use.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zareba-RSVT8-Electric-Fence-Voltage-Tester-8-Light-NIP-Free-Shipping-/280825623922?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416282f572

    IGBT ignition coil driver

How did you figure 6v? 12v/10.5k=1.14ma, 500x1.14ma=.57v Don't know much about pics but if he would use the transistor that I recommended it should work without a pull up resistor. With the irfbe30 that has a threshold of 2.55 and full on at 4.33v it should work without the pull up...

    IGBT ignition coil driver

If the pic is able to sink the pull up resistor voltage, his original circuit will work with my suggestions. That's how my circuit works with only a measly slotted optical switch. Most of what I wrote is right! If he would have used the resistor on the gate, that I suggested, he wouldn't have...

    12V/DC - Duracell battery bank?

You can charge at 15v till the battery is full, but you don't want to leave it at that voltage. It would be bad for the battery and separate the hydrogen and oxygen and you could have a nice EXPLOSION! ha I charge my batteries every day at 18v for a quick charge and then drop the voltage to...

    Initial power surge..

Sometimes the start capacitor goes bad. Check and see if it starts good on regular AC power.

    Initial power surge..

It's wierd that the 700w will start it but the big one won't. Isn't electronics fun? ha

    IGBT ignition coil driver

I still think that the original circuit should work. Just replace the 300 ohm with a 500 ohm, to protect the pic, and remove the capacitor. My circuit needs a gate return resistor to ground. I don't know if your type of transistor does or not. I use any large size resistor. Also I don't use...

    That would work.

    Initial power surge..

Also, is your inverter a sine wave type? Induction motors don't run well on the cheap inverters. They tend to get hot. After it has been running, don't try to start it immediately. Wait about 5 minutes till the pressure bleeds off. It will start much easier, then.

    Electronic glue?

Don't know why the link didn't work. Well, just do a search for electrical conductive glue. I've seen it used on glass solar panels.

    Electronic glue?

Here is some. I have never tried it, though.http://http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=conductive+glue&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=55532070&ref=pd_sl_32cmy92064_p

I think someone with audio experience would have to answer that question. Maybe even need to post a schematic.

    IGBT ignition coil driver

Can you program your pic to use a open collector or open drain? That way you won't need the extra transistor. I have built a couple using slotted interrupters and they worked good. You need a pull up resistor and your pic will ground the gate. I didn't use a capacitor on the gate. What is that...
