    Inverting LM4780 circuit

Sorry I assumed you would just look on the ti.com website for it anyway here it is: www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm4780.pdf

    Inverting LM4780 circuit

I'm looking at designing my own 8 channel amplifier board with 4x LM4780's and the datasheet says an inverting config might reduce THD+N and eliminate the need for the 68μF Ci caps but it says RB on the positive op-amp input to ground needs to be the sum of Rf and Ri when in theory and on the...

    Amp power of pop

Or even better, a DPST switch to cut mains power and disconnect the cap from the amp together!

    Amp power of pop

Oh yea I could use a relay to switch off the main power to the amp!

    Amp power of pop

The 5v digital supply drops way before the main supply which has a 0.1 farad on it I dont want an enormous cap for the 5v supply too theres already 4400uf total on the 5v supply, I could keep the 5v supply and preamp on and just switch off the supply to the amp but that's not very efficient.

    Amp power of pop

I got this amp from ebay for my 8 channel preamp I made and when turned off it makes a loud pop and crack, how would I eliminate this on 8 channels?

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

Got my preamp board all working! Sadly I messed up a TP2050 on the amplifier board I was assembling but its cheap at just £30 so I'm ordering a pre made one, I was getting pretty good with all the SMT resistors/capacitors too!

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

I'm going with a pcb-pool.com custom quote they accept a huge range of file formats including my .dip diptrace files and the price is pretty good.

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

I love all this fancy stuff I want my PCB to look like the one in that picture! What do you mean significantly raised white text? I assume the mask layer is to cut out parts of the solder mask and the signal layer is to put copper there which would be gold with an immersion gold finish (looking...

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

I seem to have created that effect by putting the same text on 2 layers, signal and solder mask diptrace has a 3d viewer.

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

Is this the sort of fancy gold silkscreen thing you were talking about?

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

Well with 102db SNR on the breadboard I wont bother splitting digital and analog right to the power supply. How about copper pour what do you recommend?

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

I have 3 rails on the breadboard for +5, 0 and -5v and no fancy separation of digital and analog and with those results I wonder why I need to keep the supply's separate?

Just updated the PCB images, they are 200% magnification and the dots are 5mm apart If they dont appear to have been updated that's because they are the same file names and your browser has cached them just refresh your browser. Top: Bottom:

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

Thanks CocaCola (I like zero personally) for the critics that's mighty helpful I made all the holes 0.1 or 0.2mm bigger than the pins keeping them tight so the components don't move around when I'm soldering them. I have been through all the datasheets looking at the dimensions etc. I have...

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

My main problem was that I forgot to connect the Mute pin high, once I connected that my code worked. I didn't bother trying 1 at a time this is all it takes to control 3 extra daisy chained devices for b2=0 to 47 high sclk low sclk next I'm already controlling them all in parallel its fully...

8 (7.1) channel analog volume control

ITS ALIVE!!! Volume control is so smooth with the picaxe at 16MHz its as if the pot were directly controlling the volume!!!

I got it working, I just forgot to connect the mute pin high!
