    Simple delay on

Thank you very much Sir. This is an simple, elegant way to do this...BRILLIANT again SIR!!!

    Simple delay on

I would use transistors on any out puts to drive relays. I can use any dc power source (6v 9v,etc). The trigger is a logic out of a sensor)

    Simple delay on

Looking for a really simple circuit that when triggered by a 3v pulse, it waits for 3 seconds, triggers for 1 second then turns off waiting for the next pulse. 6 or 9vdc operation. Thanks in advance for any help.

    4017 ?

Again, you have a 1 way of doing things. and obviously your mind is closed. All you need is a protoboard to change your circuit quite quickly. With simple wiring changes you can get a astable, monostable, frequency generator, missing pulse monitor...the list goes on and on, with only a handful...

    CMOS??

Im not here to support/not support wikipedia, Im here to have fun building stuff, as I have for over 50 years, as a hobby, which then became part of a career. Im not here to endlessly support the use of the components I use. But thank you for your interest. Kim

    CMOS??

dana, this is a never-ending discussion of me now showing you links to digging up anything other than wikipedia statements, showing you hi-accuracy caps, and resistors. Your +/- accuracy of 50% is absolutely ridiculous, but I refuse to attempt to spend the time coaxing a already closed mind...

    CMOS??

"Curious, can you show a reference that the 555 is still shipped in billions / year ? Would love to see the facts." Again, Google can be your best friend...Wikipedia quote, cut and pasted: "it was said that over a billion 555 timers are produced annually by some estimates, and that the design...

    4017 ?

Oh, Didnt think of that , while I was taking a victory lap, naked, around the block (I have VERY understanding Neighbors!). all I did was, instead of having 10 leds doing 0 to 10, I have 2 sets of 5. the one set of 5 does 1 to 5, the second set does 10 to 6, simply by wiring the second set of...

You may now kick my butt out of the forum for being so blunt!

    CMOS??

LOL...I love the statement "limited in Accuracy and Capability" Here is Wikipedias take on this: 555 was designed in 1971 by Hans Camenzind. A favorite for many engineers, the 555 is still in widespread use due to its ease of use, low price, and stability. there are still BILLIONS sold every...

    4017 ?

OK I did get my 4017 ripple travelling up and down, as per the pics Ok, Ok, its a bit of a cheat, but one of the things that I have learned is that 30 years in the film business....cheats are the best!!

    Cash deposit for battery

If its anything like Ink and Toner cartridges here, they are used to supplement landfill sites...lol The collection of recycling charges, very seldom actually goes into the actual recycling of the actual products. Its a Feel-Good charge to make you feel better about the actual purchase of...

    CMOS??

Is the prefix LM on a 555 indicate if its is a CMOS version? Thanks

    Speed control of this circuit

I would like to thank EVERYONE for their help in this matter. I have designed a circuit to do the job, with everyone's help here.

    4017 ?

I would like to thank EVERYONE for their useful help. I have decided just to use steering diodes to do the job, as its quick and easy.

Can this ceiling fan remote be fixed?

More than likely is excessive use of the push buttons. Try bypassing them with a piece of wire, and see if that function works.

    4017 ?

Is there a way to have a 4017 (driven by an oscillator) to illuminate LEDs from 1-10, or the same LEDs from 10-1 depending on the hi-low output of a 555 timer?. So if a 555 is timing, the leds from the output of a 4017 are illuminating in sequence from 1 to 10 If the 555 is in standby, the...
