    Op Amp with a/c output

Thank you. Yes, I have constructed small circuit boards a few times, have installed resistors, etc. I have the dexterity to build them. If it is no trouble, can you get me a schematic or drawing showing how to lay out the circuit? I have two choices for supply: can use the cars readily available...

    Op Amp with a/c output

The sensor must send at least 5 VAC to the computer, but it can be higher. I think it is somewhere around 600 Hz, let me double check. Is it possible to do this?

    Op Amp with a/c output

A few weeks ago you guys helped my understand op amp circuits, to help me with a car sensor. A new question and one I should have asked before: can anyone give me a simple circuit design or schematic that shows how to take 12 VDC from the car wiring and convert it (maybe through an op amp or...

    OP-amp help

Your help and guidance has been immense. Thank you very much for everything. There are several Radio Shacks and a larger electronic store close by. I will buy everything I need in the next few days. Much appreciated.

    OP-amp help

As long as I can send 1 or 2 VAC into the comparator, and get 5 or more VAC out. You think I can simply snip the signal wire and insert the circuit inline? Since the power is coming from the car then, would the circuits ground be on the vehicles ground? I really appreciate all of your help on...

    OP-amp help

Again, my goal is fairly simple. I want to "fool" the computer into thinking the sensor is healthy and sending a 5VAC signal or more. What ever can accomplish this for just a few hours to get the car to pass smog (the visual test includes the "Check engine" light off). An inline amplifier or...

    OP-amp help

The signal from the sensor is AC, and must be at least 5 VAC strong to the PCM, or the code will be set and the light comes on.

    OP-amp help

Exactly right. The Cadillac guys actually recommended it in an earlier post, and I have been unable to reach them for the help. One guy said he built the op amp from all Radio Shack materials, less than $30 and it got him passing smog and no "Check Engine" light. I am simply not certain how to...

    OP-amp help

No, I wish it was this simple. The "Check Engine" light has to pass a functional test during the smog test. The smog tech turns on the ignition, verifies it works, then checks for any codes. That is what would fail me. If I could simply boost the output voltage from the the Input Speed Sensor to...

    OP-amp help

Thanks Kellys eye. Now I am getting some idea's.........Hey how about this one below? I have cut output signal wire and inserted the very basic Op amp inline. Thinks this might do the job? Remember, I only need to boost the output signal from 1 or 2 VAC to over 5 VAC, which would then meet the...

    OP-amp help

Gentlemen, I have done all of the troubleshooting. I have retreived the code (P056), cleared it multiple times and it has came back on. This is a very common Cadillac problem. Some guys tear into the trans and replace the sensor and harness, some ignore it since it cause no running problem, some...

    OP-amp help

The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is on the outside and easily accessible. The ISS is most definitely on the inside of the trans case, which requires removal. I don't have a part number, only the GM trouble code, P056 (Input Speed Sensor) fault.

    OP-amp help

I am new to this forum and really need some guidance. I am fairly good with electrical, but some electronics stump me. My problem is that I need to install a small op-amp into my car, '95 Cadillac Seville. The transmission has an "Input speed sensor" that sends an AC voltage signal to the PCM...
