    Finishing touches on motion alarm

Haha you got it. Whats your opinion on tying all the commons together leading to a chassis ground?

    Finishing touches on motion alarm

This is what I'm thinking. How about that common "common"? Safe? Stupid? Explosive? Let me know what you think. Its already mostly built so I really don't want to back track too much. (Left out of schematic: toggle switch on AC side of PS.)

Yes. Used 0.0015 instead of 0.015. Thanks

    Correction 15v at 15 mA is 10,000Ω. :D

    Finishing touches on motion alarm

So im almost done with my motion alarm project. Ive run into a few issues. Questions really. So first off what are your thoughts on grounding multiple voltages together? (Common point for all negative conductors) Second, the way i have it set up. I have 15v wired to a spdt relay. NC is going to...

Heres my model. https://www.amazon.com/HC-SR501-Sensor-Module-Pyroelectric-Infrared/dp/B007XQRKD4 If its 30 minutes thats plenty for my design. Thanks

Ill post a schematic so you can see my dilemma

    PIR

Can the output on a PIR sensor be solid? I need it to power an npn transistor to switch a relay. But i cant have it pulsing and interupting the transistor therefore flipping the relay on and off. Once triggered i need it to stay on.

    The new types of IOT

As far as ideas for cool futuristic ideas i think youtube is onto something. If your tv tracked what you watch and suggested movies and shows. That would certainly be cool. And if you got to rate shows.....im describing Netflix arent I ?

Dont we have the technology for retina scanning yet? I dont see retina scanning as invasive as implants

    The new types of IOT

This was by no means an attack. I apologize if it seemed that way. I only meant with technology moving this fast, its almost forcing its way into society. I just think we should be ready with safety nets and failsafes when someone comes in and unleashes artificially intelligent refrigerators and...

    The new types of IOT

I think the age of living side by side with tech is coming like a tidal wave. I believe there will be a time to choose to either ride the wave or get washed away in it

    The new types of IOT

I can see this kind of tech being a bit invasive. The main problem i see so far with iot devices is hackers. When they released the first wave of smart cars there was an incident with hackers gaining control of a whole fleet of vehicles. I can only imagine the HIPPA nightmare that would come...

    Inductive sensor

My brother did this. He just wired the lights from the battery through a switch. Battery to switch to lights. No relay needed

    Inductive sensor

    Theres also this... http://controlconsultantsinc.com/h800-current-switch-solid-core-w-12v-spst-relay.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw_dTMBRBHEiwApIzn_IL1cKpBSspWiR9qin4nfBWLQUrQQO31BuL5LRpn9s9h-FRF0pT1iBoCrSAQAvD_BwE

    Inductive sensor

Just wiring a relay in wont do it? As soon as the required voltage hits the relay coil it would let the load pass. Do you mean any current? Or a specific threshold?
