Is it my transformer or rectifier?

I desoldered the secondary of the transformer to the input of the bridge rectifier and the resistance between the two AC inputs of the bridge rectifier is now 1.7Mohms whereas it used to be 0.6ohms. I mentioned how there are some wires that disappear under some panelling coming from the...

Is it my transformer or rectifier?

Three sets of wires come from underneath the wrappings on the secondary side. One branch goes to the bridge and the others go under paneling

Is it my transformer or rectifier?

I ask because the secondary wires branch off and disappear under some paneling and I want to be as least invasive as possible

Is it my transformer or rectifier?

I am back at work tomorrow and will perform the bridge test. In response to the transformer test, the secondary splits of to 3 different voltages. Should I disconnect all secondary loads when I attempt to power the transformer input or just the ones leading to the bridge?

Is it my transformer or rectifier?

Hey everyone, I have a power amplifier that has not been working lately, more accurately it shorts hot and neutral together when I turn it on via the mechanical switch on the front of the unit.I used a multimeter to trace the problem to either the transformer or bridge rectifier. transformer...

    reed switches

I was just wondering, Since reed switches operate on magnetic fields, can they be used as a fail safe of sorts? Like with transformers or beside a conductor to see if too much current is going through it

    large power amplifier

I don't really have a question about this, I just figured people may be interested in this large transformer I found inside a power amplifier I have here at work Actually I do have a question. The high wattage resistors across each of the caps, that's to slowly dissipate any left over energy...

    etching my first pcb's

Too bad I didn't find out about caustic soda before hand... Anyways, I finished working on the board tonight and I'll have to say I'm rather impressed that I didn't manage to muck it up on my first try, here she is: so I changed a few things from what I said earlier. I switched to a 100w CFL...

    etching my first pcb's

I got them for $57 canadian here, wonder why it's pricier in the states. I warranted the extra cost because I don't do that many PCB's so these transparencies will last me a long time (especially if you print multiple circuits on each page)

    etching my first pcb's

I got the transparencies from staples, they only had one pack in the entire store so it may not be something that a lot of people carry, just make sure you get the ones that are specially made for whatever printer you're using. These ones have a rough side and a shiny side I bought these since...

    etching my first pcb's

Hey all, I've always wanted to give etching a shot and recently I've started acquiring all the necessary stuff to do so. It's a little hard being that I don't have a lot of room in my apartment and I doubt the wife wants containers full of ferric chloride on the kitchen table but there's always...

    eagleCAD DRC

Hey guys I figured it out last night after walking away from it for a few hours. It looks like I was only adjusting the bottom layer and not the top, once I changed the size of top, inner, and bottom I could see a change in my pad size.

Hey everyone, I'm a newby when it comes to laying out PCB's and have run in to a limitation of sorts, was wondering if anyone had any insight. I have an automotive relay that I'm trying to stick on my board and two of the pins have pads that are overlapping, see the bottom left of "pad...
