It should be obvious by now that englishian doesn't understand the terminology "Dry Contacts" nor its proper and more descriptive term; "Non Dedicated Contacts". Perhaps this will help.? Chris

    Static

I'll extend this proclivity to celebrities. In Hollywood an actor, actress is casted to play the role of an historic figure. Usually a controversial figure. After or before release these glittering jewels of self adulation show up on talk shows speaking as authorities of the figure and the...

Historically this has to be the most asinine question ever asked. My guess is that it was first posed by sophomore psych student who thought himself to be profoundly brilliant! Chris

I think I confused you by using "@" in that post. I wrote that as a partial statement and partial equation. As a statement "1 volt @ 1 microamp is just an alternate way of 'saying' "1V * 1uA" By the way, ...... 1V * 1uA= 1uW not 1GW But that was my point. As for the rest of your "Logic...

Trying to detect wake/sleep from USB port

Jack, I reread your post regarding replacing the mouse LED with an Opto. It's sounds doable. What's the coil specs on your Relay? Do you know if the mouse LED receives a constant or pulsed current drive? If it's pulsed you'll have to capture the event with a latch. My guess is that it's a steady...

    Where to start

Here's another plug for GreatCowBasic and why I fell in love with it. https://sourceforge.net/p/gcbasic/discussion/579125/thread/96a28c1d/?limit=25#2452/cca7 One of the things unique to "Open Source" is bug fixes & improvements happen damn near on a daily basis. Not so with commercial software...

OK, then back to your mouse.. How about a second wireless mouse and OptoCoupler pick-off? Actually, it may be possible to pick off the trigger sig with a direct connection to the Mouse' LED driver. Chris

Trying to detect wake/sleep from USB port

There might be an easier way that doesn't involve messing with USB ports. There are current sensing relay modules available on Ebay and Amazon. They plug into a 120V receptacle that controls another on-board 120V receptacle. When it senses that the TV is ON the controlled receptacle will switch...

Trying to detect wake/sleep from USB port

First off I have to preface this question with I have no idea if your android device queries your USB port when it wakes up. It's more likely that the device will wake up in response to plugging in a USB device. This does not include external devices that utilize only V+ & GND.... like your LED...

I'm not sure that that is a logical conclusion. I can "perceive" that 1V @ 1uA = 1GW but that doesn't make it so. :) Chris
