    Resistor Value

I think it still could be a resistor. What is the designation on the PCB where you removed it? Does it say Rxxx or Lxxx?

    Pioneer SX 850 Receiver

That issue can be hard to troubleshoot. Let's start with the easiest. On the rear of the unit, lower center, there are a couple of jumpers that jumper the preamps to the power amps. Remove these (or at least the right one). Turn the unit power on and off - do you still get the popping?

I need help with DC power barrel jack repair

Did you take a Dremel tool to that? why? Picture of what is left of the connector and the mating end might help.

I don't understand the meaning/relevance of output impedance.

And one of the things to do to make a SS amp sound more like a tube amp is to put a resistor in series with the ouput - reducing the damping factor.

    Spark gap transmitter

90% of my radio listening is AM. Nothing on FM interests me. If I want to just listen to music, I have a pretty good collection of MP3's.

    Tabuchi PCB repair

I find the following on the data sheet: Since you would be buying small quantity, the coded quantity and packaging would be irrelevant. Lead length T1 seems to be standard and not always coded. The only thing of interest would be the 'L' and even that probably does not make any difference to...

    Tabuchi PCB repair

Pull Q1 and Q2 and test them for shorts. As kelly_eye said, there is likely some reason that 500 mA fuse blew.

I see you are from New Zealand and can't speak to your local laws. But in the US, wearing headphones while driving is illegal.

    70’s - 80’s model NuTone intercom system

If the volume control does not have any effect on the tone, then it is something in the audio amp, or there is a feedback somewhere. It could be that the unit is trying to talk and listen at the same time. Physically examine the talk-listen switches the best you can. If these have open...

    70’s - 80’s model NuTone intercom system

So the offending tone drops in volume when you reduce the volume control, and increases when you turn the volume up. That tells me the tone is coming from before the volume control. Let's back up to the mode switch. Is it any different if you select AM, Tape, or FM?

    70’s - 80’s model NuTone intercom system

I've seen more convoluted schematics, but not by much.. Is the tone coming from the speaker on the control unit? Does changing the volume or tone control setting have any effect on the audible tone? What do you have available for test equipment? Digital Multi-meter? Scope? How about your...

Can you perhaps find a model number on it? If we are going to have *any* chance of helping you trouble shoot this, we are going to need to find some service info on it.

    Insufficient Power on my Load

Posted on at least 3 forums... Someone might give you a circuit that would actually work, but what you really need to do is go back and learn how transistors work and the proper way to apply them to a given circuit. In this case, closing the switch will immediately blow the b-e junction of the...

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

Kellys_eye is correct if you are doing your surgery at the connector that the accelerator plugs in to. If you are making the changes at the connector that is attached to the accelerator, then the stub of green going to the connector goes to the pot wiper, and the green coming from the...
