    As far as I see, the Collectors of both the Transistors are DC grounded thru' the transformer T1 and the Choke L1 - means that the Vce = 0. Will the transistors ever operate in this condition?

    As far as I can remember, these Convertor/Recorders will switch It's output to Antenna Only when it's turned off. The logic followed in those days was that the Convertor is Switched ON only when you want to use it.:D

    105 means 10 x 10^5 pico farads = 1 uF markings as abc on a capacitor can be interpreted as ab * 10^z pf

    as Steve said, work backwards. Assume the output voltage is Vo. Workout the voltages at the + and - terminals, and the currents flowing in the resistors.
