    Photo upload problem

duke37 you could try downloading or purchasing an image-editor that can resize, reduce color channels (hence file-size in bytes), adjust resolution, and allow save AS or exporting to various formats. The bigger, more powerful editors are often called 'Studios' or 'Suites' due to their many...

What is this world coming to?... Perpetual-motion ‘Wardforce’ generators that supposedly defy Lenz’s Law, “part of a magnet or magnetic field that is that is not a pole at all”, Combustion engines that are boosted by water-electrolysis, UFO-type electrostatic “anti-gravity” flying craft...

Broken solder joints on flight controller for DJI Phantom 3 Pro

Had a similar fault on a Vibration Force-feedback joystick's daughter-board (repaired successfully). As Vcc is 3V5 and 5V your daughter-board most likely uses CMOS IC's. Anti-static precautions advised. If you don't have a butane gas-powered soldering iron, you could try grounding your...

When neighbors hear that I do electronics, I get given damaged goods to check/repair. These two independent repair jobs were (a): the guy had a 500W/ch amplifier rated Z minimum 4 ohms/ch. Having no concept of impedance he wanted "power" so paralleled various floor standing 4R, 8R, 16R to...

Circuit Which Turn On The Light As A Response To A Specific Sound Sequence ?

Similar circuits mostly use a condensor mic / preamp filtered by active feedback-loop type notch or narrow-bandpass filters, some with frequency band-pass tuning. The key-finder keyring-fob is probably the audio-sensor part of what you need. Except these use a monolithic I.C. covered by a...

Oscilloscope used as a component tester

Can an oscilloscope be used to test the value of an air-wound single-layer inductor coil? Or, for that matter, any devices' inductance? My DMM 'L' range's lowest is 2nH, so reasonably accurate down to about 0.2nH. Meter blew recently, anyway (wrong scale and probe-sockets - 220V RMS 50Hz AC...

How can i add a trigger to this circuit to make it not electrocute the user?

Regarding the series Rs LED droppers: As 4017 sequences 10 outputs (5 in this case), duty cycle is 1:5 (or 5:1?) so any one LED will be [1] for t=20% and [0] for t=80%, allowing the diode's junction to cool for 80% of the time. If you opt to use all 10 outputs Q0-Q9 then this is 10%/90%...

How can i add a trigger to this circuit to make it not electrocute the user?

ADD: if dragging the loop causes noise 'ripple', at most you may feel a slight tickle - definitely not lethal. As a young kid, I touched my bicycle's 6V AC lamp-dynamo [out] pin while riding - the slight AC ripple surprised me, but nothing major. If you know a friendly fridge/aircon tech, the...

How can i add a trigger to this circuit to make it not electrocute the user?

9VDC is the supply, but your wire-loop trigger SW2 will be at around 5VDC max between IC1[2] and Gnd (0V). A human's hand-hand skin resistance can vary from dry skin at about 100K to sweaty at around 1K. This translates to a maximum DC current (I=V/R) of 50uA to 5mA. According to wiki/electric...

I found a cheap and great way to get rid of Rosin off of a PCB.

Acetone (nail-polish remover) works too, but I found that PCB then needs a bath/scrub with a hot water & dishwasher solution, otherwise it leaves a whitish film which hampers future soldering. Maybe the evaporated acetone itself, or the resin just gets diluted on the board.

Current limiting resistor power rating question

The Vd=4.5 may possibly have it's own built-in current-limiting resistor, although after paging through my M****n catalogue, I didn't find any LED's with a 4V5 rating. 5V, 8V, and 12V are available in catalogue, all with internal Rs. So the 3-cell flashlight may over-rate the LED to a safe...

    Help With Calculations

There are 3 major errors with tabled equations supplied: As already stated Vdiff=Vcc-Vd (7.3V). The 1/R resistor inversions should preferably be separated by parentheses or at least the entire 'divisor' group of resistors. I prefer individually bracketing each resistor as some hand-held...
