    The IC seems to have 16 pins which exclude the in this kind of devices often used LM2917 which have only 14 pins if I remember correctly.  :-\

    Hi cbass, Welcome to our forum. You don’t tell us where in the circuit the caps are located. The might be used for LF power stage or in the power supply circuit and could have different characteristics.

    Headlight Flasher

    It’s better to use a semiconductor switch for this; the halogen lamps (and the relay) will suffer badly if turned on and of repeatedly. If repeated very often it might be les harmful since the filament is still very hot for the next pulse. Just my two cents! ;)

    There is at least one way to do this; reverse the polarity on the output! Example; put a charged capacitor the wrong way across the output! Use safety goggles for this one! 8)

    Inverter Generator

    Hi acdc, Sorry, not much to go on. The output from the generator might have noise which won’t be accepted by the input electronics. The surge at startup might stir up some EMF which could be lethal the electronics! As I said “too many unknowns in your equation to give a short or precise answer”!
