    One last question. does anyone have an idea if the mains transformer has a winding that can accept 220V ? The tracker i have is marked 110V and i am thinking to buy a step-down transformer. If i can avoid that it would be nice though since i am really tight on budget for irrelevant reasons...

    I found the user manual which is pretty long to read (i will read it through though). I also found comments on internet stating that the 2000 model is not useful in modern electronics that operate under low voltages. Is that a fact ?

    Yes... I had successfully disassembled the lcd panel, located and replaced a bad led and after re assembling it I noticed that the diffusion lens has not placed correctly. I had to disassemble the lcd panel again to reach the lens and that was when I heard that awful crack sound !!!

    I am not 100% sure about what i am going to write but... I think that since it appears to be a half wave rectifier (AC voltage) then it does not really matter which way the diode will be orientated. Again i am far from professional. just a thought.

    Ofcource you mean mA. And yes... Neither lower ot higher votage can be used. If it makes noise you can try a different one of same voltage and same or higher mA rating.

    Here is the diagram. I dont have a picture of the breadboard right now but there is nothing really to see there. Its all wired up just like in the diagram. Note that while i was probing the outputs with the Oscope, i had nothing connected on them.
