    Car lead accid batteries are very tolerant in general. i dont think there will be a problem but 5 batteries are alot, what can i say?

    Why you think you need to isolate them ? With a much stronger alternator and the batteries in parallele you should be ok i think.

    Welcome to electronicsPoint. You need to change the capacitors in the red circle. the other capacitors in the yellow circle appear to be ok but i would change them just in case. the top left part with the blue capacitors is filled with hot glue. That is no leakage. Your monitos should work...

    Yes but serout command as written in your code can only work when useing a slave picaxe chip to drive the LCD.

    Yes but luckily it still works fine :) I think that most probably the reason it does not work is that the code is not compatible with the chip that controls the LCD.
