    Powering device with batteries

The MP3500 comes with some barrel plug adapters but it's not hard to make your own. If I remember right, they connect via a 3-pin mini-DIN connector. There's also an industrial version that's harder to change output voltages on (a safety/anti-idiocy feature). By the way, that 2A current rating...

    Powering device with batteries

I recommend something with higher energy density and greater convenience. If you can afford them, they'll run all day. http://www.powerstream.com/PST-MP3500.htm

    Can you ID this transformer

This is thin but the markings look like they could be Stancor. Have you identified the windings and any taps yet?

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

You should be able to adjust the trimpot to get 24V now.

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

This is the area of the board we're interested in and the two resistors we need the values from. Your picture is still out of focus. .PNG files are preferred. Maybe you can measure the resistors.

    Flat Panel TV

I've got to start shopping at the dump. It seems that's where all the best deals are.

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

MrEE, please read the thread before posting. I guess I should have said the same to CocaCola when he posted the pot value.

    Denser than Osmium

I know. I was laughing pretty hard when I saw the posts in all caps with blank lines between the words. You have to learn to recognize the red flags that appear in the first post. When a phrase like "I'm a newb and know nothing about electronics" is immediately followed by "I measured the...

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

Kris, the controller might be this (UC3843A) or something substantially similar. http://www.ti.com/product/uc3843a#

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

Most cameras, even cell phones, have a macro setting available. It often has a menu icon that looks like a tulip. If you have one, use it.

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

That's why, when we ask for specific information to help you, it's in your interest to provide direct answers to the best of your ability.

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

Bourns, that's what I thought. So which pot value do you actually have and what control chip?

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

What are you talking about "3296"? The datasheet probably just indicates that the highest value in the series is a 2M pot. It has little to do with the one you have.

    2M+ ohm resistors not resisting

The trimmer potentiometer in the product photo is 10k. Is yours really 2M? Is the part number on the SOIC-8 package on the bottom of the board MC34063A or something like that? Edit: Kris is way ahead of me on this. While I'm still typing, he posts a book, has it published and applies for a...

Help needed: 16 LED sound reactive setup not bright enough!

Reduce the base resistance if you have any. A schematic of your circuit would be helpful, if you have one, not the one you found on the internet, one that accurately represents your circuit as built. You probably need an amplifier but that would be more building.

    Need help with LED Circuit

Many of the lights made by these companies do just what you want. The Princeton Tec Quad headlamp for one example, does the low-medium-high-off sequence and will turn off when the button is held down. http://www.princetontec.com/...

    Help identifying component on PCB

    It's a transformer, something like this: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Murata/DXW21BN7511TL/?qs=%2fha2pyFaduhjNZY3juYaojRzYpFV95r6k2x6nQeX1ynfuGO3bgv0og%3d%3d

    DC Voltage Reduction

You have at least a space the size of 2 AA batteries. Go to a well-stocked thrift store and buy a few cell phone car chargers for $1 or $2 each. Look for ones with an output voltage around 4.5V but 5V is alright too. Take the little circuit board out of the charger, cover it with a big piece of...

    12v LED Strobe Controller

Nice work as usual Kris, options for alternating quad flash, alternating triple flash and alternating single flash all on one page. I am a little concerned that some of the LED pods may be designed to connect to ground when attached to the vehicle (non-isolated). I know you asked highstandardz...

    hot tub circuit board

Have you checked the price/availability of a replacement board yet? If the problem can be isolated to the board and not some other fault, that may be the best option since the board has some liquid/corrosion damage. Usually, where there's some visible corrosion, there's more hidden. The 90V...
