    I have repaired such monitor by replacing C809 and C811 few years ago. However the symptom was not the same. Having a look inside can be a good start.

    Well it's more a hot air pen than a gun :) and the solder iron it's not the plumber model used to solder the 1 inch diameter pipes,;) really you need a rework station and training to expect repair such small stuff!

    yes I agree with cjdelphi probably a schottky, like this one: http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/MBR0520LT1-D.PDF because she looks connected to an inductor and close to the 13AHF7, probably a step-up

    Here in Belgium we recently have a grid transformer outage following an overflow. When replaced the main goes to 235 from 225V (I leave "close" to the transformer). That's why I guess that they progressively adapt the grid. Olivier

    To me it's mostly impact the appliance manufacturers as they now design things centered around the normalized 230V. My felling is that they progressively adapt the grid to better match this.

    Formally continental Europe was 220V and UK 240V, both with +/-10% allowed tolerance. That's why 230V become the standardized voltage. So yes two travel adapters should do the job.
