Rohm makes several bandpass filters. I researched them previously and if I remember correctly, at least one had an operational mode that didn't require a microcontroller.

He has a damaged cable-mounted socket. The male connector is on the chassis. This is atypical and the cable-mounted sockets are much more difficult to source.

A lot of low power consumer transmitters have a pi or t attenuator between the output amplifier and the antenna to reduce the power enough to comply with regulations.
That's a common misconception. CTCSS only prevents you from hearing transmissions that don't include your tone code by disabling your receiver's audio. Your receiver's front end will still lock onto the strongest signal on frequency. Users on the same frequency still interfere with each other...
The older baby monitors used 49.830 MHz. For a while there were some at 900MHz but the newer ones all seem to be 2.4GHz.
I don't think the FCC allows continuous transmission on either FRS or GMRS.
I can't see a problem with your proposed substitution. 3852C-252-502H isn't listed as obsolete, it just isn't listed. 3852C-282-502A differs in the precision you mentioned and potentially there is some difference in the bushing (25 vs 28)...

There are numerous diagrams online for both 3-way and 4-way switch wiring if this is what you're looking for. Ordinary light switches are SPST, 3-way switches are SPDT and 4-way switches are DPDT, so make sure you have the right type...
