Phone call causes LOUD screeching noise from unknown location near my apartment building

I’ll vote for coincidence unless it occurs again the same way. Bob

USB Power Supply via a Relay

No, you don’t need to run the black connection through the relay. Bob

    Simple SW receiver on 3V?

That is basically a crystal set with a 1 transistor amp. Bob

    Please explain this resistance reading

Look at the second part, the maximum resistance for a short is infinity? I guess I have a short circuit between all of the fingers then, no wonder I am so clumsy at typing. Bob

How to spec a simple electronic circuit

It is hard to give advice without knowing what you know. Do you know how to determine the max voltages across and currents through each component in your design? Do you know how to read a darasheet and extract the relevant limits? If I told you there were no voltages above 10V in a circuit...

    Simple SW receiver on 3V?

There is no reason a 3V would last longer than a similar sized 9V if outputting the same power. In fact, it might be the opposite unless a class D amp is used. Bob

    DC 9v replacement

Based pm what Brookstone stuff costs, I would expect a bridged class D amp. Bob

    DC 9v replacement

I would be very surprised if an outdoor speaker produced only 1W of output. You would barely be able to hear it. Bob

    DC 9v replacement

1A might not be sufficient. Do the speakers have a power rating? Bob

    DC 9v replacement

8 D cells makes 12V. Are you sure the adapter is 9? Bob

Attract fish by sound, light or anything else

It might be easier to repel fish. A loud audio signal might do it. Put concentric rings of transducers around the area you want to attract fish to. Activate the outer ring first, pushing all of the fish toward the center. Then, activate inner more rings in sequence. Then all the fish will...

how to determine the right voltage for led lamp?

I don't see how you can light up just 5 of the LEDs on that strip. It looks like there are conductors top and bottom, which would be power and ground, and then 5 LEDs in series between them. If you power any of it, it should be powering all of it. In any case, it cannot be driven by a voltage...

Input power vs Output power in pro amps

If that is the case, the mandated power consumption sticker on the back in incorrect. Bob

Input power vs Output power in pro amps

I can make a device that takes in 175W continuously and outputs 700 Watts RMS for one second out of each 10 seconds. It is actually energy which must be conserved, not power. And energy is power times time. So my device would take in 1750 Joules every 10 seconds and output 700 Joules. Bob
