    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

Cool, thanks. Currently have tolerance windows big enough for lengthy charge times but faster times may prove beneficial.

    Video monitor cable adaptation

There r paddle stores. FUNCTION needed for project endgame, finish, fini. View video input, the "scene", with video camera transmitting "ANALOG" signal, which sends xmission over 2 conductor, jacketed, RCA TERMINATED cable, view on a monitor possessing only VGA connector type externally. Simple...

    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

I did purchase an off the shelf charger which works well. Charger is capable of charging 3.6V thru 9.6V battery packs without any outside settings. Very handy in that manner but rather slow. Two to three hour charge times. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Video monitor cable adaptation

I am curious as to if the initial signal is recorded as an analog signal then broken into a composite signal. RGB, horizontal sync, etc., or if signal comes off of photo sensor in a composite form.

    Video monitor cable adaptation

No mixing required. Simply desire to use video monitor on hand to view analog output from security camera. Perhaps I can inject the signal into a VGA card which may separate and condition signal into the format which the monitor can read.

    Video monitor cable adaptation

If possible I would like to inject the video signal, generally referred to as an analog signal generally connected with an RCA type connector, into the 15 pin D connector used often on computer monitors. I will guess the D connector is a standardized pin out. Will this be a simple lash-up or...

    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

Right. I am not sure why electron flow was the theory of choice at my school unless maybe that is the method they saw coming in the future. It is based, I believe, on the idea that the negative side of a supply contains an over abundance, or excess of electrons. In MOS technology it appears that...

    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

So in theory, a completely discharged cell requires 10 hours of charging at 280 mA? I think it was stated that an advantage to NiMH batteries is that they charge well with out having first to be fully discharged where as is was an important factor to fully discharge a lithium ion (I think it was...

    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

I have also heard that overcharging NiMH batteries is damaging. I have accepted the idea that I will have to piggyback a smart circuit on to the charger circuit. The smart circuit would turn off charging current then take a voltage reading of unit being charged. The closer the unit voltage is to...

    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

I am considering battery capacity to be expressed in AMP HOURS which is a function of current flow vs time. That leaves me a little hazy in finding 10% of an Ah. My batteries are rated 2800 mAh. Shopping in the R/C accessory section is a good idea. My battery pack voltages will be 4.8 V and 7.2...

    BATTERY RECHARGING DETAILS NEEDED

I have developed some devices who's power requirements are best met with battery packs. At the moment, it is impractical to consider custom battery packages as a power supply. I am constructing my own packs using AA size batteries. Due to space constraints, I am unable to use manufactured...

    PLASMA CUTTER IGNITOR CIRCUIT

What would be the high end frequency before distortion? I'm guessing that the absence of an input resistor to the MOSFET gate relies upon the theory that the FET gate circuit passes no current. Close?

    PLASMA CUTTER IGNITOR CIRCUIT

It has been a while since I have heard the term totem pole. Will you refresh my memory on that and give a nutshell tutorial on a totem pole bjt circuit if it is practical and you are willing ? I may readily recognize it or maybe not. Ran into a similar situation a while back with a "bubba"...

    PLASMA CUTTER IGNITOR CIRCUIT

The following photos are of a section of circuitry that I am guessing drives or times a flyback transformer which goes to a spark gap and induces the arc of a hand held plasma cutter. The schematic is my best guess of circuitry. Any chance I can drive the IRFP264 MOSFET with bipolar transistors...

    JAKES LADDER

RE: Convection currents. Will the arc not travel upwards if unit were in a vacuum?
  17. HANKMARS

    JAKES LADDER

Most likely off track with heated air notion. The arc will produce considerable heat but if free ions (ozone O3 in this case, I would guess) they probably radiate all directions from the arc regardless of convection currents. Not really sure on this.

    JAKES LADDER

I have an extra high pressure coil and now have a notion to construct a Jacob's Ladder. At first blush, I had no idea why the active arch would begin to travel upward along the ladder sides, increasing the length of the arc and apparently the resistance thru which the arc must travel. Seems to...

    Connecting non-solderable wires

Well, I have come back to a crimp link. I put the wires through the link, bend the end over, then crimp, then fill the void with 60/40 tin/lead solder. That is the best method I have found yet. I tried to do a copper plating on end to be soldered but the copper did not adhere well to resistance...
