    Welcome to maker.pro. I doubt you'll find just the button being sold, but you could easily make one by cutting off a short length of plastic rod of a suitable diameter (perhaps an old pen-top) and hot-melt-gluing a small thin disc/pad to the base.

    A clicking power supply could indicate that it's being overloaded and going into self-protect mode by shutting down intermittently.

    Google throws up an image of that diode sitting next to a 100V 40A (32A with a case temperature of 75C) MOSFET (RFG40N10) whose datasheet says a typical use is in switch-mode regulators/converters. That suggests to me that the diode is likely a Schottky one with a similar voltage/current rating...

    A cheap option for direction sensing could be Hall-effect magnetic field sensors. These are available with various outputs, e.g. analogue or PWM, dependent on field strength and polarity.

    I don't see how that, or any synchronous motor, will do what you want. You need a synchronous resolver, which is essentially a rotary transformer.
