    Whirlpool oven heating very slowly

The oven I have now is gas, but EVERYTHING in it is electrically controlled. My last oven (all electric) did the same thing yours is doing now. It had two different heating elements, the broiler and the oven. I pulled the oven element, cleaned the electrical contacts on it (where it connects to...

Vestax PMC50a, All channels intermittently dead.

I agree. A bad connection somewhere. I've also found that a dirty potentiometer sometimes causes intermittent problems like this. Try tapping the various connections, dials, and switches to localize the problem.

Deaf Alarm Clock Rubber Button Issues

I can't think of too many more abrasive ways to try to clean a carbon contact button than with an eraser. I wouldn't try that. I use isopropyl alcohol only. But we don't even know if you HAVE carbon pads. If they're not just worn away, maybe KTW's idea of a conductive grease might do it?

How can we Improve EP in 2017?

Success. Thanks Ian. A little embarrassed asking you to solve my own computer problem, but thanks a lot for explaining what to do.

How can we Improve EP in 2017?

Somebody might have some ideas for you, but I think you've got just about everything covered well. I'm not good with computers, but I'm wondering about this so I'll ask. Somebody will write a post, sometimes detailed. There's probably some cut and paste way to do it, but I use the function on...

Deaf Alarm Clock Rubber Button Issues

KTW's advice is probably the correct solution. What you need to do, is make those contacts on the board connect. Any possibility of cutting and glueing little aluminum foil discs to the underside of the rubber button, so that when depressed, they make the circuit board traces connect? Just...

    Help me build a spaceship

I built some of these for my kids many years ago. My recommendation, with all of the new kid gadgets out there, is to try to integrate the cheaper already-built stuff into this, as the fancy stuff in cheap Chinese toys is more eye-popping than DIY stuff I built from scratch. My kids especially...

Could you guys help identify some things?

This is what I found. Most of these CLAIM to be in working order. If you list these on eBay, it'll help if you have any cables, probes, accessories, manuals listed in the description. B&K 15MHz Scope 11482C $60-$100 starting bid on eBay Sencore Video Analyzer (you'll need the model #) $85...

Could you guys help identify some things?

We'll have responses, we just need time to work this. What I'll do is start Googleing some of the instruments and try to give you an idea of what to ask for price-wise on eBay (and let potential buyers bid from there). Don't expect some windfall in profits here, but you should be able to get...

    "Repair" mystery

Kinda puts a crimp in your own magical troubleshooting and creative abilities. Maybe a séance is in order here. Remind the beautiful Morticia that you DID make them work again.

Timer What type is It? Please Help...

There are a couple of things we need to know first. (You want an example of an exact part number) You will have a power source that activates the siren. Is that actuator a push-button you control, or a signal from some other device? What you will need to do, is connect that power source to the...

Tektronix 2445 Scope Repair? ANY help would be appreciated!!!

People have recommended some forum out there that I don't remember the exact name of, that deals specifically with Tektronix equipment. Google it and ask them. Frankly, from what I see in your pictures, you may have a focus or blooming problem (that can be adjusted), but your root scrambling...

    Curtis TV

With the description you've given us, I'm thinking either your TV has a failure, or the switching mechanism that enables either the TV or the CD player (or anything else this set is capable of doing) is not working. Kind of hard to diagnose without looking at it. While not impossible, I'd be...

    "Repair" mystery

Are you sure these were Christmas decorations? .... Wait a minute. These were probably made in China. I'll bet they were the same circuit as their Halloween devices. BobK. If you don't have Ghosts From Christmas Past working here, you've got left-over spirits from Halloween at work. You're...

Timer What type is It? Please Help...

You may indeed have a timer, but what I think you probably have is called a: TDR, or Time Delay Relay. In your case, it would be a Delay-Off TDR. Can you tell us what the device is (make and model number) of your timer?

    "Repair" mystery

I'm thinking like *steve*. Something in the timing/on-off circuitry. Knocking them to the floor dislodged the batteries WHILE they were in their timing mode. Then just reinserting the batteries confused them. I think it'd be something in the design. Turning them on and off, but not considering...

Could you guys help identify some things?

We know that you don't know what equipment works and what doesn't. We also know that you don't know how to test them other than whether they light-up or not when you plug them in. When you list the items on eBay, just explain the circumstances of how you acquired them briefly, and specify that...
