Amp keeps going into protection mode

These measurements are very confusing to me,they don't agree with #163: "D8, D9 & D10 read .018V to .030V at moderate volume and right before trip they read about 1.50V to 2.20V". I would take another route of testing: . Please note the point the amp trips into protection on the volume dial...

Amp keeps going into protection mode

Where the diode voltages taken a bit before the protection activated?

Amp keeps going into protection mode

    No,just a bit before that.

Amp keeps going into protection mode

Rick , looks like my last post is lost... The last measurements are very confusing. Please add a DCV measurement on R3. And an AC- voltage measurement on both R2 and R3. and the diodes has shown below( for all of them like the one shown,no flipping).

The best thing you can do is contact the JST technical assistance. Take a clearer photo, they should know

Amp keeps going into protection mode

Please measure the DC voltage (2V range) on R2 at minimum-volume and just a bit before the point it goes into protection. At that point, Also measure the voltages on the diodes D8-D10 ,no flipping. The (+) red probe on the anode and the (-) black probe on the cathode. And carefully, with D11...

Amp keeps going into protection mode

That is fine. Now add D10. protection?

Amp keeps going into protection mode

Can you please measure the DC voltage (2V range) on R2 at minimum-volume and max-volume volume.

Amp keeps going into protection mode

O.K We shall re-solder the diode gradually, and test while we do that. We now have all diodes cut ,correct? Let's Start with re-soldering D9,going into protection? If so, at what level?

Power Supplies - Common Terms and Limitations

Agree with you. The "Hick-up mode" sounds even more annoying. A good article.

Amp keeps going into protection mode

R3 reading of 0.085 is too low, that makes Q2 a suspect. Can you please confirm that reading? If it confirms ,then de-solder Q2 ,take it out and measure it in Diode Mode. Note Q2 connections on the board before you take it out. Check between B-E and B-C and C-E and flip (a total of 6...

Amp keeps going into protection mode

Check R2 R3 & R8 in Diode mode? Amp off? In diode mode and in ohm mode

Amp keeps going into protection mode

All diodes measure fine(about 0.6 and flipped Infinity). Please measure R2 ,R3,and R8 (in circuit) and flip the probes. What kind of capacitors have you bought? They should be low ESR and I guess audio grade as well. Could you please show a photo of the "old and new" ones.

How to tell if a microcontroller is reprogrammable or not?

I couldn't find anything ,did you? Can you read English? First page says "Flash based",google it and translate it to Hindi if you have to !

How to tell if a microcontroller is reprogrammable or not?

Read the μC datasheet, you will find the answer there. Do the same for the programmer and simulator.

Now cut D11 and measure it.

Amp keeps going into protection mode

O.K , Now cut D9 . With all 3 diodes D8-D10 cut .Does the amp go into protection? If so at what point? Measure D9 as you did for D8 and D10,what do we get?
