yeah hand crank items have a bad rep, but they come in useful if you get one with the right battery backup and gear ratio. the one that has interested me is so hard to find but was seen on tv a few years ago. you and a wind up spring like in clocks, as it unwound over several hours it produced...

    Wireless Remote

ok a few things here, define range. define the current setup, define what you want the remote to do. If you have a setup that can take an input but is not "remote" then a simple circuit instead of a keyboard could act as a reciever allowing you to create keyboard. if the range is 100metres...

    Readily Available Energy

lol at raven. its a great concept I say. anyway as for cc's comment is the home owner can put said item into their house to create heat. the only issue I had was turning the dang thing off, and protecting the glass. its a great concept but as with all things it needs a few people smarter than...

    Help on leds

and last but not least series or parrallel is another issue again, how many are you driving? if its less than 4 either won't matter. but if its more than 4 than you need strings for best effect. right now all we got is 5 super bright LED's from a 9volt battery. in that case try the CREE range...

    Readily Available Energy

there are so many different ways to make nergy, but the weirdest part is we still burn things to make heat which is used to turn a turbine to create electricity... to create heat....... that still perplexes me. I have a good friend (who thinks himself a mad scientist... i don't think he is a...

    Help on leds

typically when buying LED's you have to look for a few things, brightness is one sie is another colour, or bicolour or tricolour and do you want flashing? if you mix a few LED's together you could simulate flames like they do in the electronic candles.

hi and welcome. I am curious as to what you will build here. I am a north qld boy (australia) and get really shocked to see how many people don't have back up plans for things like storms. If you want help or just a few bad ideas that I have come up with over the last few years for disaster...

being a security officer I can tell you straight of its a few factors to take into consideration. first of all is the cost.... do you really want to spend $1000 to protect a pack of gum? second of all time, if you do put something on the said gum will the time it takes actually be worth it...

    AM Radio Interference

the fact that its AM might make my answer a little less likely. but is there a DJ or jukebox that is not wired to the house speakers? they could be using a transmitter for this. even a wireless microphone.

    Battry Backup Time

if its straight ah and amps then life of battery =ah/a but you should at most use half that number and allow a further 10% for innefficiencies for watts amps = watts divide voltage then calculate as above. once again do not drain below 50% and add 10% for inefficiencies

    Battry Backup Time

in that case it would be 7 BUT no device I know of has an AH rating, they either have amps or watts. so finding an AH rating on a battery is common on a device its not. I am noobish and I always assume that amps rating is amps used in an hour but I may be corrected there. as for the...

I want to make a FM radio transmitter, help me

the big issue is that even if we give you a very specific schematic to follow, a wrong resistor or cap could possibly turn your little device into something similiar to a radio frequency jammer/blanket. anything that involves long distance tansmissions is usually best left to professionals...

Ethernet camera less wires = want

why not use the network cable (cat 5 or cat 6) to send just the data. inside the robot use a microcontroller to recieve said line and send signals to the items. having said that you would need a powerful micro OR something like a raspberry pi for the video feed, as I haven't seen that many good...
