    Agree, that gearbox grease is probably solid gunge and stalls the motor. Happens with electric seats too. Try applying a drop of oil to the bearings and shaft. Martin

    It is possible with two CD4017s and a 555. One for ‘up’ and one for ‘down’. But it would obviously be better with a micro. Or depending on your circuits (which nobody knows yet) you could use diode steering to achieve the same result. Tell us what kind of circuits. Martin
