    They don't look very large. What about taking apart an old VHS tape rewinding machine and modifying it to fit your rolls? You'd need a guide along the ribbon path to make sure they rewound neatly and didn't misalign while rewinding.

    I don't know if you know,... You can ADD water to top-off a lead-acid battery, but as Harald said, a sealed battery should not have lost any water. What I was talking about was fully replacing the 'water', which is not just water, it's a sulfuric acid/water mixture made for lead-acid batteries...

    OK. If you're asking for my input now, I vote for a damaged original antenna. Up to you if you want to save the original non-working unit for spare parts. It'll cost you too much to identify the failure and try to fix it. Glad you're up and running now.
