    I thought we had chosen a high-efficiency LED (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/LTL2R3KGD-EM/160-1852-ND/2675131) for the power indicator, to operate at 2 mA. That's the amount I allowed in the current budget. In that case, VF is typically 1.8V so R10 would be 1K6. Looks good!

    Trace the wires back from the speakers and try to identify the audio output IC. It will probably be in a wide single-in-line package with around 11 pins or so, and mounted onto a heatsink. Post the part number on it. It may be easy enough to figure out where the inputs are.

    The EL13 seems to be discontinued. There's no information on it on the Tridon web site; there's only the EL13A which is an alternating flasher for hazard indications. Do you have a data sheet for the EL13? Does the EL13 have an earth connection as well as the three you show on your diagram?

    The headphone output is taken from the power amp output. If the headphone output is clean, that implies the power amp is OK as well. So check the speakers themselves for damage or deterioration. Also try connecting external speakers instead of the internal ones.
