    Laser toner refills

Oh wow, those are super expensive even for the "compatible" cartridges . Here's some from the same place that does mine: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Prestige-Cartridge-Compatible-CE260X-CE263A-Replacement/dp/B00977FSOU/ Still £137 though (£20 for mine, but they are quite small in...

    Laser toner refills

Do you mean refilling them yourself or buying the compatible ones from a 3rd party? I've not refilled toner cartridges for a long time, as the powder is nasty stuff to work with and "compatible" toners are quite reasonably priced for popular models. I get get a full set of CYMK toners for...

    Recent forum activity...

Good question! I've just had a look at the statistics, but I don't think there's enough data yet to see if it made a big difference. The new threads/posts stats are so volatile month on month, that I think we'd need another few months to see if it had any measurable impact. It doesn't look like...

    K40 Laser Cutter Upgrades

I stuck a bit of thermal tape under the lens cover and did that test at all 4 corners - seems ok now that I've replaced the lens and given everything a clean, so I wonder if I had it sitting off-centre previously. Next plan is to build an adjustable z-table, as the current bed is awful. I think...

    K40 Laser Cutter Upgrades

I aligned them all to be very close to the centre (which was the most time consuming process of the whole thing, as the tube was so out of whack!) - however I wonder if I knocked something when I was fiddling with the air-assist tube. I'll re-check this today and make sure it's still ok :)...

    K40 Laser Cutter Upgrades

I'll see what I can do to improve the airflow - at the moment I'm using an ACO-318 (3600 l/h), but perhaps that isn't enough. Hopefully with some faster cut speeds I'll be able to minimise the scorch marks further. Next time I do a cut, I'll take a photo of the shadowing - it's separate to the...

What is difference between c and java code

I wanted to post a notice in this thread, as some of you may be wondering why this member was banned and some other threads removed a few days ago. This member keeps registering on the forums and repeatedly asks questions without putting in any effort (this thread is actually not that bad, so...

    DMCA weirdness

I just checked the query and see that Google now link to the DMCA claim - that's much easier than it used to be. Here's the claim: https://www.lumendatabase.org/notices/15850408# They're blocking this page...

    DMCA weirdness

Unfortunately, what may have happened is that a large company that may often need to takedown content (i.e. TV/Movie Studios, Software companies, etc...) will have have handed a contract to a DMCA "specialist" to protect their content. In some cases this means that someone has typed a couple of...

    Dialup issues

Hi @12vdc :) We upgraded the forum software a couple of years back, which may mean that there is now just too much data to load on each page for it to work smoothly. Replies should work ok (not sure why they wouldn't, unless you've disabled Javascript and perhaps the reply feature needs that)...

Driving a high power semiconductor laser

Sorry @skenn_ie - this sounds like it could be something used as a weapon, so I've closed the thread. If we've misunderstood, please drop me a PM with more details and I can re-open this thread.

    K40 Laser Cutter Upgrades

I can't find the link anymore (still looking), but I saw a post on another forum about a member that burnt the table underneath the laser cutter through that hole . I imagine it would take some time, but I don't fancy risking it just in case (as there is plenty of ventilation elsewhere)...

    Holiday pics

Looks like you had a great time Steve :). Thanks for posting the pictures! The art gallery looks great (and that's not normally my cup of tea). I had a google for the guy you mentioned that is paid to set there, as it sounds like that must be a really boring job (unless he's free to chat)...

    What is KCL, KVL?

@GURUELECTRONICS - I have locked or deleted most of your other threads. We're a forum here to provide advice and discussion, we're not a personal search engine. You've asked a lot of <5 word questions in a very short period of time, without any elaboration or effort. I've left a comment in this...

    K40 Laser Cutter Upgrades

Thanks Steve - it sounds like it may be worth getting a new head to save time and money in the long run. I think I'll go for this one (as the nicer blue one above is a lot harder to get hold of in the UK)...
