It should normally enter them where the cursor is (here's my test in Chrome on Windows 10: Ωμ±). If it's not doing that, I think it may be down to the browser - could you please let me know what you are using (and OS) and I'll see if I can replicate it and get it working :).

Oh boy, do I feel silly - the ability has been there all along! I even had a good search of the developer forums to see how to do this . Well, I've certainly learned something today :D. Good catch @FuZZ1L0G1C!

When did the site get a nice new look? I like it! :)

Thanks, I'm glad you like it :). It's only been this way for a few days, but so far, so good :D.

    Forum Category Feedback

    Whoops! Thanks, all fixed :).

    Forum Category Feedback

Thanks :). I'd like to be able to do that, but unfortunately threads can only be assigned to one category within the database - so it's only a black and white choice available. If it were a style or other item, I could make the transition easier, but this is a one-off hit I'm afraid. Hopefully...

Anyone able to tell me what this is?

Welcome to the forums, @Guillermo. Can you please post your questions in English please, perhaps by using an online translator such as https://translate.google.com/. I've added translations for your posts above. Bienvenido a los foros, Guillermo. ¿Puede, por favor, probablemente utilizando un...

    Forum Category Feedback

Thanks guys :). I've changed the icons at the same time, to a more modern style (primarily as I needed to get new icons for the additional categories).

    Forum Category Feedback

I'm somewhat braced for there to be some difficulty transitioning to the new forum categories, but hopefully things will seem a little more familiar in a couple of weeks :). We've delayed changing the categories for many years, but we were getting too many threads that could legitimately end up...

    Forum Category Feedback

At the moment, the threads from Projects and Circuits (the only categories to be merged) have been moved to "general electronics"... however, I'm moving them to other sections if the new categories are a better fit. It's not an ideal way of doing things, but it isn't possible to have the old...

    Forum Category Feedback

I'm rolling this out now, so the forum layout may be a little duplicated during the next couple of hours. I've saved a list of the old thread locations, so we can roll the changes back if required :).

    Cheap Chinese Laser Cutters

Brilliant, you've given me a lot to think about and plenty of useful information :). I will do some research on how practical getting acrylic is going to be, as this is likely my material of choice (3-5mm usually). MDF is ok, as I can buy smaller 3mm sheets locally. I think if I do go for one...

    Cheap Chinese Laser Cutters

Thanks Steve, I appreciate the advice. Having auto Z-height would have been a handy feature. I had a look at the M2 Nano controller board and it doesn't appear to have a Z-limit input available, which is a shame as I was hoping to just add my own modifications to do that. Doing it manually...

    Cheap Chinese Laser Cutters

Whoops, I just realised that I neglected to add the link to the 2nd machine. I've edited the first post now and updated it with the link :).

    Cheap Chinese Laser Cutters

Thanks for the advice Steve, perhaps if I do go for one it may be better to go for the slightly larger 400x400mm one. I would love a larger one still, but the prices go crazy if I go any bigger (plus, I'd need to find the space). Our FabLab has an Epilog laser cutter, but it's so busy that it's...

    Cheap Chinese Laser Cutters

I've been interested in getting a laser cutter for many years, but until recently they have been prohibitively expensive. A few years ago, there was a flood of cheap K40 CO2 laser cutters/engravers from China - with matching cheap construction/hardware. However, it looks like the quality of...

I had to view your post to see how you did that! A very clever workaround using invisible [size=3] tags within the brackets to break the auto parsing :D.

I should also mention that square brackets should normally work (i.e. [ and { and / and ]), but they'll disappear when using one of the tags listed on this page: https://www.electronicspoint.com/help/bb-codes [i] [b] [u] will probably be the most common ones, especially "i" in programming...

No problem! Glad that we've got a quick fix in place :) I'm having problems adding the code in to the editor, but I'll persist and see if I can get it in to the "insert..." menu. If I can't get it there, then it may need to be used manually for the moment (until we upgrade to XF2 in the future).

Excellent :D. I've installed this now. Here is is in action if you want to use the [i] string in a post :). You just need to wrap the inline code with the [ICODE] tags. I'll see if I can add it to the WYSIWYG editor.

Unfortunately, the [ i ] tag is the BBCode for italics, so I don't think there's way to use it within a post, unless it's in a code box or has additional spacing to break the tag. I've been testing out the next version of XenForo and they have an "inline" code option (and there's a plugin for...
