    I'm going to have to make an entire new bracket. The existing one grips a ridge on the bottom of the original cap. The new ones don't have that ridge so a different method (and shape) will be required.

    Looking at my 2003 vintage "World transistors, diodes, thyristors & ICs" it claims a BY409 is a 12.5kV 2.5mA silicon diode. It suggests a BY406 is 350V 0.8A. These old paper books come in useful for something!
