    Clap on FIREPLACE

not just that but also you are playing with something that turns the gas on and off and ignites it, hack it the wrong way and that timing goes wrong, you'll find yourself with a room full of gas before the igniter goes of... my advice from begginer to begginer, look for premade products and hire...

Need to hire for a small project

from this i have 2 quick questions. 1st the size of the housing, par 56, and the desire to use highpower leds, i was wondering if this project was to be looked at or are you projecting it onto a wall? 2nd what voltages are you looking at? 115 or 230?

    Transformers

thanks magicmatt, i assumed there would be a problem charging, but couldn't figure out why. i also noticed from the page supplied the item purchased was the only one that had a single voltage the other 2 actually offered a 12v output.

    Transformers

hey i looked at the basics of the link you sent, and as i am a newbie i am just stating this. but the enclosure houses 2 12volt 7ah batteries, i assume in series to create a 24volt power supply. couldn't the batteries be "seperated" to give the 24 volt supply it is intended as well as 2 supplies...

    Sound alarm on cut wire

this circuit i saw a while ago. its simple and a little inaccurate(the relay is nc when voltage is applied to the coil, you need a no) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/69/burglaralarm.png/ simple thing to hook up but i have never actually thought about its power drain. the fuse if the...

    led push button switch

hey guys am new to this but just learning from reading, and i was just looking at 2 things. fist the diagram shown, the led would need a resistor to limit the current right? also if you use any switch and connect a light accross the pole it would create a short closing the circuit? so wouldn't...

    Need some RF circuit suggestions

from the area i work in(security) i can tell you the rfid itself is a a loop of wire with what appears to be a small capacitor on it. the rfid requires no programming. However the reciever does. it has to know what frequency YOUR rfid's are to enable, in your case, a light to flash. I met a...

    Scanning PCB schematics from magazines

same question as previous, is it pcb layout or a schematic, as these two thing are ifferent. if my maths is accurate (its usually close) then enlarging the diagram by 11% will bring it to 99% of the original size. unless your copier does decimals then a straight conversion will be difficult.

Inverter question / Solar System - Check My Work?

i am assuming the 10kw is not used constantly but at time of heating and pumping. when the pumps and heating are all running it would utilise the full 10kwh. but when the tub is not pumping(spa setting) and is at a decent temp that would shut off. given the size of an averagage hot tube the...

Inverter question / Solar System - Check My Work?

with regards to this project i am offering an alternative that people have offered already, use a solar hot water system. this will lower the heating bill of the water going into the hot tub. the hot tub will still heat it and you may need a plumber to hook up, i forget what its called but it...

hey i got a design concept that is something that will look bad but offer some cool relief the problem i have is that under current design the fan will be subject to condensation. is there any way to get a 12v fan(like the ones in computers) that will handle said condensation? i might make one...

need 240 vac to 12 vac transformer

could you use a standard power pack with the plugs shown by dave and then make your own adapter? iec or c13 and c14 plugs are easy to obtain and if its ac wiring should be easy as well. the only problem i see is the earth wire unless that terminal is not in use.

need 240 vac to 12 vac transformer

i understand that this is a standard wall transformer, but if its for a commercial product we could probably find the equivilent for you if you let us know what you're powering. the transformer supplied from steve will require wiring plus the lead and plugs also you can try items like...
