    That circuit can't be simplified using simple formulae for resistors in series and parallel. You need to employ another type of circuit analysis. What other methods do you know?

    Perhaps you need to think what has to be done to turn the mosfet on and off. Look at what you're doing with the optocoupler and make sure it changes the state of the mosfet.
