Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Your right. I didnt notice the missing trace. I am using Dip Trace and have noticed nets being deleted when you move components, thats not very good. Maybe @Supercap2F has seen this and can help. Else I will email them. Cheers Adam

Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Hi Hop I guessed you knew about floating ports, I wasn't trying to teach granny to suck eggs, apologies. I made a mistake on the pinouts yes sorry. It was late over here, no excuse though. The latest circuit has righted that so yes we need to change the code. Adam

Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Hi Hop A floating port pin is not good for any micro. If not pulled up or down noise on the input can cause the pin to oscillate or be in an indeterminate state increasing PCB current. But if you set the pin to an output and high or low dependant on the design this will also work fine. I choose...

Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Hi Hop Been thinking about the option for jumping back to where you left off after sleep. Maybe an easier approach would be just to put a label after the sleep command you can then goto after you have checked the WDT bits. Another problem you have is that with two sleep commands one at the start...

Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Been working on a new PCB, using a new package so bit of a learning curve. I have designed it with the original PIC but it can be changed to another PIC if we can't get the 10F200 to work properly I have added a power connector also and the spare pin 2 for J1 I just connected to VDD. Would...

    Can anyone identify this transistor?

Love the pictures. If you do this it is advisable to take ESD precautions so you don't damage the transistor from any ESD events. Adam

Difference between dimmable and non-dimmable LED downlighters

Hi Dimmable LEDs have a special driver inside to allow them to be used with dimmers which probably accounts for the extra cost or the fact that they just don't sell as many. The other thing you need to watch out for is some of the old dimmers might not work correctly because they often need a...

Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Hi Hop Yes I like my PICO-SCOPE also. It's the basic 2206A and does have a arbitrary waveform generator that I haven't used yet. "Is Figure 4 the supply running with the 100 μF capacitor? That's mighty small ripple!" Yes correct. "The supply drop when the switch is pressed is humongous. Is...

Microcontroller controlled by pushbutton for LED flashlight

Hi Bob The switch could be pressed for 500 ms so it's only this initial time during mode setting which would be the issue. Cheers Adam

Need Some Help Finding the Right MOSFET

Might be best to check with them first, the reviews down the bottom don't give them a good rating for discharge current. They do say you can connect them together to form a bigger pack. But my personal choice would be a qualified pack with leads and a connector. Adam

Yes it will have inside the pack. Any batteries that have a set of wires and or connector when sold must be qualified. It's the law over here. Adam

Here is an 800 mA one. I couldn't find a 1 Amp version, I think the next size up is 1300. Adam http://www.batteryspace.com/custom-polymer-li-ion-battery-3-7v-800mah-2-96wh-with-open-end-wire---un-approved-ndgr.aspx
